Computer Vision QC System for PharmaVision
Deployed computer vision quality control for pharmaceutical manufacturing achieving 99.97% inspection accuracy at line speed.
The Challenge
PharmaVision's manual pill inspection process was sampling only 5% of production. FDA regulations required 100% inspection capability. Manual sampling was catching defects late, causing expensive batch recalls averaging $1.2M per incident.
Our Solution
We deployed a computer vision system with 8 high-speed cameras inspecting pills at line speeds up to 1,200 units/minute. CNN models detect surface defects, color anomalies, size variance, and foreign material with 99.97% accuracy.
Our Approach
We collected 200K+ labeled defect images across 15 defect categories. Transfer learning on EfficientNet-B5 achieved 99.97% accuracy. The system generates GxP-compliant electronic batch records automatically, replacing manual paper processes.
We haven't had a single batch recall since deploying TechVerse's computer vision system. 100% inspection coverage at line speed — something we thought was impossible for our scale.
